About Me

Michelle Warsing, MA, LMFT, RPT

I received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Theology/Philosophy from the University of Sioux Falls in Sioux Falls, SD.  During my undergraduate studies, I had several internships and experiences that provided me with opportunities to work with diverse populations such as: preschoolers in Head Start programs, developmentally delayed adults at a facility in Brooklyn, NY, the chronically homeless population in Los Angeles, CA, and in a residential treatment facility in South Dakota for children and teens with qualifying mental health disorders.  I then moved to Seattle and worked as a Child Advocate in a transitional housing facility for homeless families for several years until I decided I wanted more education and training to be able to work with children and families in a deeper and more therapeutic capacity.  I returned to school and earned a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from Antioch University Seattle and I also earned a Certificate in Play Therapy. I completed my internship at a community mental health agency and then was hired to continue working as a Child and Family Therapist after my internship. Later, I transitioned to The Hallowell Todaro ADHD Center in Seattle and worked with many children and teens with ADHD, anxiety or other trauma-related disorders for two and a half years.  In 2018, I opened Pacific Northwest Play Therapy and continued working with children and families in the Seattle area in my own private practice setting.  Now I have returned to my midwestern roots as I moved back to my home state of South Dakota to open Roots Play Therapy to continue the work that I love so much!
